Jackfruit is a tropical evergreen that produces the world's largest tree fruit. It can be a rewarding choice for gardeners in warm climates who enjoy growing unusual, edible trees.
The fruit is sweet when ripe, and has a meat-like texture when green. Ripe jackfruit is enjoyed fresh or in sweets; young, green jackfruit is often used in savory cooking where its texture stands in for shredded meat.
Jackfruit thrives in tropical and warm subtropical climates. It prefers full sun, regular water, and is sensitive to cold. Over time it grows into a large tree.
We grow tropical fruit at C&M Homestead in Richmond Heights, FL and are happy to offer local pickup here. Please note: we cannot ship this tree to California.
